Please tell us a little about yourself.

I am 28 years old; my life is an open book! I enjoy people and music; I also play the violin (self-taught)! I have the most amazing Yorkie, named Fancy. Above all, I really like helping and inspiring people. Helping people comes naturally to me; I like to understand people’s stories. My alma mater is Loyola University (New Orleans, Louisiana), class of 2013; I majored in mass communication with a focus in broadcast journalism, minor in music business. Moving to Los Angeles was a huge faith move for me; I moved with $750 to my name! What I did not want out of life was regret, I did not want to get caught up in a 9-5 job, then look back and think what if I had stepped out on faith and did what God had shown me.

What attracted you to a career in the acting sector of entertainment?

According to my mom, I have always been dramatic! Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been able to mimic accents and gestures. I never thought about being an actress, but my speech professor brought it out of me. In that class, I learned how to perform scenes, everything felt so natural; I knew that was my path!

What motivates you?

God, my family, and the people I want to help motivate me! My relationship with God is what motivates me. There was a time when no one supported me, even the people who I thought would did not. He was all I had; He constantly showed me what He called me to do!

What has been your most satisfying achievement and how did you achieve this?

Procrastination was a habit of mine in the past. For the longest time I wanted to take a commercial class. Once I made improvements to time management, I enrolled in a commercial class; within a week of completing the class, I got an agent! With the help of my agent I have been to several commercial auditions! That was a huge achievement for me, because for the longest time I would just say what I wanted without putting the work in. Doing the work and getting the results I wanted is a huge win for me!

Who is your role model from within the entertainment industry, and why?

Taraji P. Henson is my role model, because she moved to LA as a single parent, at an age older than what I am today. She continued to pursue her dreams, she did not stop for anyone! In my opinion, she is one of the greatest African American actresses today! She is versatile, playing many different roles from comedic to serious. It is one thing to be able to act, but it is another thing to build your acting career from the ground up!

What type of acting role interests you the most, and why?

I am naturally goofy, so I think I would be most natural in a comedy. I always wanted to play two types of roles. One role I would love to play is the girl next door, kind of like the girls on the movie Clueless. I would also love to play an artist who is in the music industry in a bio-pic.

What advice would you give to your 21-year-old self?

Put God 1st in everything you do, don’t worry about what your parents and friends say. Get a relationship with God because that will lead you to where you need to be. Do not look for validation from other people, when you are pursuing your goals because not everyone is going to get it. Do not worry about romantic relationships. Your time is valuable, if you meet a great person awesome, but do not waste time looking for love. Learn yourself as a person and know who you are by yourself!

What can we expect from the Robyn Paigé brand in the future?

Helping people is a huge passion of mine! My aspiration is to help young girls and the homeless population through my future non-profit organizations! I am excited about fulfilling the plans God has for me! I cannot wait for the day when I am traveling to speak to people all over the world. The dreams that are placed inside of you are often times God giving you direction in the way you should go, for He has birthed each of us with a gift and certain desires for a reason.

Sometimes you have to vacate.

Hey guys. I know I been M.I.A. per usual but I really needed to take a moment to focus on me and what I really want out of life. Key word “I” because social media has a way of influencing us without us even knowing it.

Social media with all its benefits has some negative affects. Ever find yourself scrolling down a timeline and start feeling weird, like almost mentally comparing yourself to other people as it slowly habituates in your subconscious? Even if you think the world of yourself and have the best self-esteem, rather you want to admit it or not, it happens. That’s why I encourage a social media break every once in a while. It’s good for you. It’ll be ok. Social media will still be there once you return. *inserts wink*

So this coming year, 2019, I’m going to make a point to be social media present as well as more present on my website. It’s apart of my New Year’s Resolution. I realize that I have a calling and it’s not just about me, but about you guys as well. I hope I can continue to inspire and pour into your heart and spirit as God allows.

I want to start this thing called #TransparencyMoments where we can vent about our days or how we are feeling with no filter. People majorily post highlights on social media, but never the struggle or the ‘wilderness’ of their lives.  I want social media to be a place where we can support our brothers and sisters as they go through things and not just double tap on a bomb photo. I get it. You are a private person. You don’t want to be judged, BUT think about how you can potentially free someone else that may be going through the same thing as you. You’ll be surprised at how many of us go through the same thing or something similar. Transparency is powerful.

Studies show that we spend more than 11 hours per day watching, reading, listening to or simply interacting with social media. That’s more than a full time job. Crazy right? So why can’t we use social media to lift each other up through the hard times? I want us to be awesome humans and not just post once we have a bomb selfie after taking it 20 times or after we have the perfect edited photo of how we really want to look by altering our bodies through a photo app. I want us to just be our true genuine self without worrying about anyone’s opinion or approval. We got to rid ourselves of public opinion. That’s a whole other post! (LOL) Until next time, see you guys on social media. #TransparencyMoments

Nice For What?

Happy Friday Ya’ll! I had a blast going back home for French Quarter Fest. I really felt like a tourist this time around. ‘Nice For What’ had just came out and if you from New Orleans, like me, you didn’t know how to act when that song came on. Drake really did it for the city! #BlameTheSouljaSlims

Happy New Year! It’s Black History Month too! Ehhh!

Hey guys! I know it’s been a minute. I feel like I start off all my posts this way. lol Let’s just say I got to do better.

This year started off so ‘poo lala’ for me as I came into the new year with the flu! I like literally slept through the whole “Happy New Year” saying with a 104 degree temperature. Not cool! But to God be the glory I am healed! It’s pretty scary how there has been like a flu epidemic happening across the U.S. My mom even sent me something in the paper about how dogs can get the flu too. I’m like oh my goodness, “I bind that!” As some of you may or may not know, I have a dog named Fancy who is my pride and joy.

IMG_4390

The last thing that I would want to happen to my child is for her to catch the flu. There has been kids dying from it. Let’s lift each other up in prayer for healing and an end to this!

So guys, to kind of catch y’all up, right now in my life I’m like low-key freaking out lol Ok! I will become a fabulous age in like 3 more years and I’m not where I want to be.  I’m not getting any younger. Let’s just say a sister girl ain’t got no more time to waste ok! There are so many things that I need to accomplish.

I want to encourage you today that whenever you feel like it’s too late to accomplish your dreams, know that it’s never too late. The fact that you have breath in your body is reason enough to take on the day with your dreams and goals in full focus. However, a little disclaimer, as soon as you realize, “Oh, this is what I want to do in life, this has always been a vision of mine, a dream of mine…” THEN START!!!! Time waits for no one. so as soon as those two things click, it is go time!

It’s time to own what God has given us. God did not call us to not have a vision of our own to manifest. How can you be a boss if you are personally out of control? How can you own a business if you can’t own what’s on the inside of us? Let’s get it together! Don’t let fear destroy your own ambition. Let’s create history!

Speaking of history, today also kicks off Black History Month! I want to close with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. himself,

“Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.” – MLK Jr.

Letting Go May Be Hard…

But it is necessary! We can’t live life with regret. Everything we have been through had a purpose of some sort. We may not know the purpose yet but that’s when prayer and relationship with God comes in. God will begin to reveal things to you or what I like to call the WHYS in life. Stretch that relationship with God out. Communicate with Him. Get rid of old wineskins. Don’t let past experiences pave the way for your future. Your faith has got to put a down payment on your destiny. God is trying to do something new, but we have to be willing to let go of the negativity of the past. Enlarge your vision, think bigger! #LetItGo #LetGoLetGod #TrustGod #MotivationMonday

Love Triumps Hate

You know it’s been crazy these last couple of months in our world today. Happy New Year by the way! It’s definitely been a while. My darling Uncle Simuel passed on January 2, 2017 and that just took a toll on me. He was my biggest fan and greatest supporter. It’s because of him, I have to be excellent in everything I do. I’m better now and excited to share my views.

As I was saying, it’s been crazy these last couple of months. The world has been uneasy and I haven’t heard of so many people passing away back to back in my immediate circle. I’m like wow! Ok God! You got my attention! He showed me that life is too short and when we have the opportunity to make change then we need to do it.

I’ve spent most of my time back in New Orleans and was on the nonstop go with planning the funeral, the repast, reviewing my uncle’s things and cleaning out his apartment back in Houston. December and January were like omg this is how we end and begin a year? Huh God? I was overwhelmed and was searching for his never-ending strength.

I had to take a step back and look at all the blessings in the midst of all the drama and grief. There was some significant ones at that. It’s like so much was going on at one time. Smack left, hit right… when this happens I encourage you to just stop. Look at all He has already done and where He has brought you! Our God is great and He will and has never failed! Let Him work out things how He intended it. As long as you do your part, God will do the rest.

As I mentioned, I haven’t been home, in Los Angeles, CA to attend my wonderful church on this side of heaven, One Church LA. I know I could live stream but my tasks at hand would not allow. I went to church on yesterday and PT, that’s what we call Pastor Touré Roberts, really enlightened me on some things, as he always do. Lol

Since Trump has been nominated in office, now officially inaugurated, there has been nonstop riots, protests, a lot of chaos and a strong disconnect in our country. I am concerned with the polarization of America because a kingdom divided itself cannot stand.

The enemy comes to distract. The whole thing has been a distraction. We have to know that we are spirit filled believers and everything will be alright! Are you so distracted that you forgot who you are? We can’t be full of faith and full of anxiety. The power of change comes from within.

Needless to say, the year of 2017, is the Year of Alignment. Trust in God to supply what we need to serve where He has called us. Do we? Do we trust God to supply our needs? Let’s have faith that He will give us what we need to carry out His work. God has the final say in every situation.

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

-Matthew 7:7-8

2016 Election Views [MUST READ]

To my dear friends and loved ones:

I am currently fasting right now so I am off social media but God gave me this word to share so I am going to spread it.

This election reveal has our nation in total shock. We were and a lot of us still are angry, frustrated, felt like our voices didn’t matter, so many negative thoughts, asking God why, and so on and so forth.

We cannot panic as people of God. It’s too much panic around as it is. We need to realize that no matter who sits in that presidential chair, we will get through this! Our Father is our Head!

Trump hasn’t had a chance to lead yet and everyone is speaking death into our country already, which I can see why. Even myself was against Trump. I shot a video short on why not to vote Trump. Our voices are powerful though my kings and queens. For we know that life and death are both in the power of the tongue. We being people of God can’t speak death, only life! We have to speak life into our situation even when we don’t see it!

We have to remember that God is ultimately the head of not only this country, but of the world! We making up the body need to have thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven! This is apart of God’s plan and we ultimately need to put our trust in Him, not man.

Some would call this a wake up call. This may need to happen in order for true unity and fight to take place. We don’t know yet. Nothing has happened so let us all breathe, remove the stress, let go and let God use us!

If we love this country we can’t just leave. You can’t call it love when you see the ugly and you leave and run. We have to fight through this! So many people including myself was like if Trump wins I’m moving to Canada or the UK. Apparently a lot of people had the same thoughts as the immigration site for Canada crashed during  the election. My friends, we can’t leave. This is OUR COUNTRY! We were CALLED to this country!

A media cycle shouldn’t control your heart! News stories shouldn’t alter that. The winds of change shouldn’t have the authority to blow our hearts all over. We need to be solid in our heart and not have a wind-blown heart. Our heart needs to stand even when we see what we don’t like.

We have the authority when the world has different agendas to guard our hearts.

Where should your heart be?

Our ancestors fought for this country, for our rights in this country! Do we not have the same abilities?!? This is the beginning of the process. America is a work in progress. We have to do the work!

Ephesians 4:13-16 New King James Version (NKJV)

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

If you are not gonna do your share, you cannot complain! Don’t add more fire to the flame! Stop panicking! Children throw fits. Right now our country is a big angry child!

We need to minister…meaning WE need to identify what are the needs and apply them! How to fix the problem with love? When you walk in solution you will gather unity!

It’s ok to be angry and be frustrated but ask the Lord, “What you want me to do?!” If you don’t know you don’t know but you will find out! God how do you want us to move? Wait for it. Don’t rush!

We are equipped! Just like our ancestors! Turn off the emotion. If you are going to be angry let the anger form action! Speak your perspective out of love. Be rooted in love. Communication is speaking to the heart.

We don’t have all the supplies by ourselves. God will show us the plan! Are our hearts aligned with the kingdom of God? Have an honest heart check…if not, let’s get there! I’m lifting you up my brothers and sisters! We got this and I close with this scripture!

1 Peter 2:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV)

15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— 16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

Be On Guard…

Temptation runs rapidly in the world. It will always be there. God gives His kids free will to decide. Don’t disappoint, choose wisely.

Our world is full of temptations, and we need to remain constantly alert and not forget about the dangers. Like Adam and Eve, we easily get entangled in attractions that make the things of this world seem “good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom” (Gen. 3:6).

“Be on your guard,” Paul admonished, “stand firm in the faith” (1 Cor. 16:13). And Peter cautioned, “Be alert and of SOBER mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

As we work for our own daily bread, are we alert to what could start consuming us? Are we watching for any int of self-confidence or willfulness  that could leave us wishing we had trusted our God?

The best way to escape temptation is to run to God!

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith. — 1 Corinthians 16:13

When does success happen?

Hey guys! It’s been a while. I celebrated 25 years a couple of days ago on October 18. I am truly blessed and grateful to see another year! What that means ultimately is that it’s been a year since my website has been up! WOO WHOOO! God is amazing!

I have been on the constant grind networking and what not! It seems like the devil loves to attack my mind with all the craziness that surrounds me but I can’t let him see me sweat. I encourage you whenever you feel down or like the entire world is going against you, keep pushing! Be determined! The feeling of overcoming is great! One of the things that stuck with me this past month and keeps me grounded is:

Success happens when preparation meets opportunity. Opportunities will come but are we prepared for them? Did we put in the hard work up to that point?

We really have to be prepared when those windows of opportunities present themselves. I challenge you to work out your gifts daily so when those opportunities come, you will be prepared with no regrets!

I’m happy to announce that I am done with my Donald Trump piece introducing the 6 R’s. The 6 R’s are characters that actually live inside of me lol. Robynette who is “The Southern Belle,” Robina who is “The East Coast New Yorker,” Roberta who is “The South Side Shawty,” Roro who is “The Island Rasta Gal,” Robbie who is “The Chick from the Valley,” and Ronesha who is “The 504 Girl.”

The character piece is a comical commentary on this year’s presidential nominees. It talks about the key reasons why I WILL NOT be voting for Trump this coming election. Hope you enjoy! Take a look:

REMEMBER TO BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE. SEW SEEDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT,

NOT DOUBT.

BUILD UP SOMEONE TODAY.  =)

No Make-Up Today

Alicia Keys isn’t the only one who is in love with the whole ‘no make-up thing.’ I, Robyn Paigé, am in love with it also. For years I have been ultimately against anything fake really, like plastic surgery, the Kardashians, butt injections, lip fillers, the list goes on and on.

In society today, I feel like we are at our all time high of it all. Living in Hollywood, as I look left and right, the fake-ness is so real. It literally surrounds me! Why do you need a beat, contoured face just to go to the gym? I don’t get it. Aren’t you gonna sweat the make-up off anyway?

My point is this…  LADIES we are already naturally beautiful! God has already put his paint brush on us so why chemically alter it? Some would say they do it because they suffer from low self-esteem. Some would say, but not openly admit, that they compare themselves to what they see in the media and on television. Some would say make-up is a version of self-expression and some would say they just want to slay 24/7. Whatever your reason is just know that you do not NEED it. You’re already beautiful…QUEEN!

In my previous relationships, I suffered with low self-esteem to the point I attempted suicide. I felt not pretty enough and I wasn’t comfortable with my body. I had to quickly learn my self-worth before i self-destruct. I had to learn that God created me in His image and just by those words I was already perfect in His sight. I had to understand that, know that, and live by that! It was definitely a process. It didn’t happen overnight but God took the wheel and showed me.

I was inspired to shoot this short visual video. What really inspired me was the lyrics to Kendrick Lamar’s song “No Make-Up (Her Vice),” off his 2011 album, Section.80. This project is the first that I ever had to direct and act in at the same time. I don’t know how Tyler Perry does it. I learned a lot, it challenged me, and I am grateful. Big ups to Tyler Perry! Take a look at it and please share. It tells more of my story…

National No Make-up Day is April 25, 2017.
